I recently received 2 bottles of wine from the California Wine Club, and I couldn't wait to see how they differed from other wines you can pick up at your local market. Both wines I received were from the Robledo Family Winery, The Seven Brothers. One was a 2009 Napa Valley Tempranillo, and the other was a 2008 Lake Country Sauvignon Blanc.
First, my husband and I tried the 2008 Lake Country Sauvignon Blanc, at room temperature, and were pleased with its all around flavor and quality. Though it was on the dry side, the flavor bursts in your mouth, and is quite crisp and full.
A few nights later, we tried the 2009 Napa Valley Tempranillo, also at room temperature, and found it to be absolutely superb! Not only did it carry a wonderful fruit flavor, it was thick and not to sweet. We have tried many varieties of red wine in the past, but we both agree this was the best by far.
Now that we have sampled 2 of the wines offered through the California Wine Club, we now know there are more varieties of wine for us to bring into our home, as well as our loved ones homes. So if you're looking for the perfect gift for the wine lover in your life, then I completely recommend the California Wine Club.
